Example of the first
day of an internship Adventure in the Verdon gorges:
Morning: Go in
the morning to 9 am at the village of La Palud on Verdon, then
towards the site of Valaute. Taking knowledge, discussion and
presentation (or recall) knowledge bases. These bases are the
harnesses, the use of brake 8, the use of loins, rappelling,
compliance with the safety instructions. You learn to put your
harness correctly while checking yourself for putting it into
security closure. First workshop, the use of loins for safety
at the start of the recall and on an upward trend through cordata.
Enforcement by the participants. Presentation of the second workshop,
rappelling down with a demonstration of placement of the brake
and heading downhill. Introduction of self-insurance system by
the person at the bottom of the recall. Setting situation of
the participants to workshops tailored. Lunch between 12 am and
1 pm.
Afternoon: Implementation of lessons, we start to the adventure.
Change of site by going the route of making ravine Main Morte
(see photos above, with numerous raids rappelling), then backtracked
to the plateau by using an via cordata trail.
Taking stock
of the day: Learn the basics
of climbing (placing the harness, using the brake and 8 lanyards,
rappelling), self-control, self-insurance rappelling, route under
real conditions in the ravine Main Dead.
